2022 Crias

2022 has started with a new addition to our herd. In March, we added a third little one - Carl. He was purchased to be a buddy for Maverick, one of our 2021 crias. When crias reach about 6-8 months old weaning takes place. The females get to stay with the other females, but the little boys have to be weaned and removed from the female herd. Since alpacas should not be kept by themselves, we got Carl to keep Maverick company. The two bonded quickly and are getting along wonderfully.
